How you choose who you practice with
The country is the one preference that actually changes who you meet, and you are the one who sets it.
By default we pair you with anyone in the world: we don't look at where you're from or what language you speak, so everyone meets everyone. If you want to practice a specific language, select the country in your preferences: from then on you'll run into people from there far more often, and that's how you get closer to native speakers.
It's a nudge, not a cage: the country sorts who you see first, but it never leaves anyone out. And if you pick none, you meet the whole world evenly.
There's no automatic translator here — on purpose
OVMNI doesn't translate for you. It may sound like a limit, but it's exactly what makes it work for learning: you actually speak, you make an effort, and that's where the progress is. A translator gives you the answer; a real conversation gives you the language.
