The system prioritizes people who share your language, so the conversation starts without barriers from the first second. And if you want to run into people from a specific place, you can select the country: that's how you get closer to native speakers of the language you're after.
It's a nudge, not a cage: we still pair you fast. If you'd rather open up to the whole world, you can do that too.
There's no automatic translator here — on purpose
